Planner (Resource & Environment) 

We are looking for our next star planner to become part of the KTB Planning team. This role is suited to a planner with at least one year of relevant experience in processing and/or applying for resource consents, experience working in a regional or district council environment with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in areas of geography, science, planning, environmental or other relevant subjects. The successful candidate will want to take the next step in their career and grow and develop their skills across a range of resource management topics.

The successful candidate will thrive on problem solving, be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a fun and enthusiastic team.

Intermediate/Senior Planner (Resources & Environment) 

We are looking for a vibrant Intermediate to Senior level planner to complement our young and dynamic team of Resource Management Consultants. This will enable KTB Planning to meet a growing need for the services we deliver.

This role would be ideally suited to a planner with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in processing and/or applying for resource consents, experience working in a regional or district council environment and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in areas of geography, science, planning, environmental or other relevant subjects. The successful candidate should be ready to take the next step in their career and grow and develop their skills across a range of resource management topics.

The successful candidate will thrive on problem solving, have excellent communication skills to quickly and actively develop relationships with new and existing clients, be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a fun and enthusiastic team.  Likewise, their time management skills and professionalism will need to be top-notch to ensure client relationships are maintained and projects are completed in a timely manner. They will need to be a team player who is keen to uphold our strong set of values, including a focus on ethics and integrity as well as positive outcomes for our community and the environment.  This is a full-time position based in Cambridge, however, have a focus on work/life balance, so hours may be negotiable for the right candidate.

Environmental Planner 

KTB Planning is looking for an outstanding Environmental Planner to complement our young and dynamic team of Resource Management Consultants. This is an intermediate/senior level position. We are seeking a resource management professional with expertise in the areas of natural resources and environmental planning. The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience in processing and/or applying for regional council resource consents within the New Zealand planning context.  Ideally, they will also have experience in consenting (RMA) within the topics of three waters, farming, earthworks, coastal development and discharge consents.

The Environmental Planner will need to have excellent communication skills to quickly and actively develop relationships with new and existing clients.  Likewise, their time management skills and professionalism will need to be top-notch to ensure client relationships are maintained and projects are completed in a timely manner.  

They will need to be a team player who is keen to uphold our strong set of values, including a focus on ethics and integrity as well as positive outcomes for our community and the environment.   This is a full-time position based in Cambridge, however, we support work/life balance so hours may be negotiable for the right candidate.

We'd love to hear from candidates who are qualified in resource and environmental planning, environmental science or related fields. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an eye for detail, relevant New Zealand experience, intimate knowledge of the RMA and a full driver's licence.
