OUR SERVICES

Resource Consent Applications

We make the resource consent process less complex for you or your client. We initially provide professional advice to identify risks and opportunities with your project and then work closely with you to develop a comprehensive resource consent that will add true economic value to the business and property.

We prepare Assessments of Environmental Effects and Resource Consent applications as required under the Resource Management Act 1991.

Town Planning - Land Use Consents

We prepare land use consent applications for new development such as:
  • New houses and additions
  • New commercial and industrial development
  • Comprehensive mixed use developments
  • Home occupations
  • Heritage buildings - additions and alterations

Farm & Forestry Consents

We help farmers obtain the necessary resource consents to ensure they meet environmental standards. Consents include: water take consents, bridges, culverts, discharge consents and earthworks consent.

Industry & Infrastructure

KTB Planning is regularly involved in the development planning of large industry or infrastructure projects. We prepare Notice of Requirements (NOR's) for large Designations, such as State Highway Designations for the New Zealand Transport Agency. We also obtain resource consents for smaller infrastructure projects such as stormwater outlets into the Coastal Marine Area or jetties.

Plan Change Applications & RMA Policy

Our experience in the industry help us to develop Private and Council initiated Plan Changes. A recent Private Plan Change was the Coromandel Business Park (Plan Change 13) to the Thames-Coromandel District Plan. This involved rezoning 12ha of land and developing a comprehensive structure plan for commercial development.

We also help key stakeholders and neighbouring landowners to understand the details of a Plan Change and the implications that it may have.

Environment

Our mix of environmental planning and scientific knowledge means we have up to date knowledge of environmental systems and policies. We help our clients to identify opportunities to promote environmental best practice! We encourage environmental enhancement as part of our projects.

Environmental Management Plans

KTB Planning is regularly engaged by clients to help development management plans. We often engage the services of specialist ecological firms or landscape architects help us develop these plans. Management Plans that we have developed over the years include:

  • Restoration and Enhancement Plans (gully, riparian margins, bush and wetland restoration)
  • Stormwater Management Plans
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
  • Landscape Management Plans
